Salvadore Poe - Composer/Producer

During the nineties Salvadore Poe began composing and producing music for films and television. Among the films he worked on was The Basketball Diaries featuring Leonardo Di Caprio, in which he co-composed the score in LA with Graham Ravelle. Included in the movie along with the film score was a song he co-wrote, produced and perfromed with then partner Adam Flax in their band 100 Moons entitled Strawberry Wine. That song and parts of the film score were included on the Basketball diaries soundtrack album.

Around that time Poe also composed and produced several opening themes for TV, including the 1998 VH-1 Fashion Awards, 1996 Vh-1's Rock 'n Roll Picture Show and 1997 Behind the Music, (which is still currently airing worldwide). He also wrote some music for the 1998 Olympics, CNN’s Daily Lineup and Daytona 500 Car Races, among others.

In 1998, while in India, Poe met the multi-platinum selling Swedish singer/songwriter Lisa Ekdahl. A year later he moved to Stockholm and began writing some bossa nova and jazz songs. These 14 songs, of which he wrote both lyrics and music, were released throughout Europe by BMG Records London in 2000 as the album Lisa Ekdahl sings Salvadore Poe. By the end of 2001 the album had become a certified Gold Album in France. Lisa and Salvadore subsequently toured around Europe with their band playing theaters and concert halls.

In 2001 Poe wrote a song entitled All I really want is love, which was recorded as a duet between Lisa and the French superstar singer Henri Salvador.

In 2002 Poe co-wrote two songs for another French superstar, Elie Semoun. One of them, called Vous, is currently the single off of Elie’s soon to be released album called Chanson.

This summer, 2003, Poe will be producing three new songs written by Lisa Ekdahl for her forthcoming compilation album of Swedish songs to be released throughout Scandinavia.

After that he will begin composing the music for the upcoming New York film The Mirror written and directed by Phil Allocco.
